IIBMR has modeled itself on a management curriculum that extends beyond classroom learning.

  • Activities

    Discipline and Code of Conduct at the Institute

    • Classes start from 9.30 a.m. and may continue up to 3.30 p.m. on all the five days of a week (Tuesday to Saturday). Students are advised to come to the Institute by 9:25 am to attend classes.
    • Students are expected to use only courteous and polite language and behave with decorum with the faculty members and the staff of the College.
    • The students shall observe strict silence in the class irrespective of the presence or absence of the faculty member.
    • Students are expected to read notices/circulars displayed on the College Notice Board. Ignorance of not reading any notice/circular thus displayed shall not be accepted as an excuse failing to comply with the directions contained in it.
    • Students are prohibited from damaging the building or any other property of the College in any way. The cost of any damage so caused will be recovered from the students collectively if the responsibility for it cannot be fixed on any individual or group of individuals.
    • Students must adhere to the Dress Code of the Institute.
    • Every student must carry his / her Identity Card while entering the campus and identify himself with help of the Identity Card whenever asked for.
    • No guests / visitors shall be allowed with the students in the class.
    • Students must help to keep the institute neat and clean and also preserve and maintain the greeneries. Eatables / beverages are not allowed inside the study area.
    • Smoking is prohibited in the premises of the institute.
    • Students must conserve electricity and water. They must switch off lights & fans when they leave the class room.
    • Misconduct during examination, production of false information or documents for admission purpose and the failure to return loaned materials or settling debts with the College would be seriously dealt with.
    Use of mobile phones within the College campus is strictly banned. Violation of this rule by any student would result in impounding of the Cell phone and strict disciplinary action against the student.

    Attendance Rules

    1. Students should attend all classes regularly and punctually.
    2. Students must be punctual to each lecture hour. Students coming late to the class by more than five minutes will not be given attendance for that period.
    3. Although the University prescribes a minimum of 75% of attendance, the College insists on regular attendance in all classes. Students are eligible for scholarships only when they earn more than 90% of attendance.
    4. A student with less than 75% of attendance will not be eligible to write the Semester Examinations of the University.
    5. Students are not permitted to absent themselves without prior permission.
    6. An application for leave must be submitted in the prescribed form well in advance or at least a day before the leave is required.
    7. When absence without prior permission is unavoidable the leave application must be submitted on the day of return to the College after the leave period.
    8. Even with prior permission, if a student absents oneself, even for a single hour, he/she would be considered as absent for the whole session.
    9. Absence without leave for even a part of the day will be counted as absence for one day.
    10. Students without Identity Card & proper Uniform will be marked absent.
    11. If a student absents himself/herself for three consecutive days without leave his/her name will be removed from the rolls.

  • Visit

    Industrial Visit

    IIBMR is known for its practical approach towards the learning and development of students. Industrial Visit focuses on preparing the students to learn about the day-to-day workings of a particular industry and understand its operational issues. The visit also helps the students to keep update regarding the current management practices followed by the organizations and acquire traits that the industry demands from them. Following is the list of industries/companies/organization/Government bodies visited by the final year students of IIBMR (MBA & BBA Programme):

    Eco-friendly tissues

    Students learn about the practices that government is following to keep the city clean. They also understood the importance of Solid Waste Management Department.

    Students understood the following: Registrations of any types of ships and vessels, Registration/de-Registration of naval mortgages, Payment of annual taxes, Radio accounting , Marine Survey to determine adherence to Class, Load Line and SOLAS specifications, Bareboat/ Dual Registry, facilitating issuance of Seafarers Licenses, Full Vessel Investigations including Non Destructive Testing (NDT) using Ultrasound Thickness gauging, Tonnage Calculations, Caribbean Code Consulting & Certification Service, ISM Consulting & Certification Services, assist Offshore Company Formation, advising and managing Marine Insurance (Hull & Machinery, P & I Clubs), Legal services, Technical and other consultancy for Naval & Offshore Architecture, Logistics and Freight forwarding, Training for Personnel and other Ship Management Services.

    Cochin Shipyard

    Ship Building

    Cochin Shipyard with its proven expertise is perfectly positioned to offer a flexible range of products such as Tankers, Product Carriers, Bulk Carriers, Passenger Vessels, High Bollard Pull Tugs, Air DefenceShip.

    Ship Repair

    CSL has successfully undertaken repairs to more than a thousand ships belonging to a wide variety of clients including Shipping Corporation of India, Indian Navy, ONGC, Dredging Corporation of India, Fisheries Survey of India, Ethiopian Shipping Lines, Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling Inc and vessels belonging to various ports of India.

    Marine Engineering Training

    One of CSL's most rewarding contributions is its Marine Engineering Training Institute (METI), located in the Shipyard premises. METI is under ISO 9001 Management System Standard from DNV (Det Norske Veritas) for Quality Assurance, ISO 14001 for Environmental Management System, OHSAS 18001 for Occupational Health and Safety Management System as part of CSL Management System Standard.

    Students understood FIT’s main activity of wooden furniture manufacturing to meet the needs of Government of Kerala and Commercial sectors. FIT is the only Government owned company in Kerala solely engaged in manufacture of wooden furniture and joineries. Its main strength is half a century's reputation of maintaining consistently superior quality products both in durability and finish.
